Lakshmi Adithi Bumanapalli

Lakshmi Adithi Bumanapalli is a master’s student in the International and Development Economics (IDE) program at Yale University. She holds a B.Sc in Economics and Finance from Ashoka University and a postgraduate diploma in Advanced Studies and Research, where she explored the trade-growth relationship in the context of twenty-first-century geopolitics through her thesis. Most recently, she worked as a Management Trainee at AGI Greenpac, a glass manufacturing company, leading digital transformation initiatives—an experience that deepened her commitment to policy-relevant, data-driven research with tangible public impact.

Rooted in both personal experience and academic training, her research interests center on the uneven effects of trade and growth across regions and communities. She is particularly focused on how financial flows and international trade can be leveraged to address structural inequalities and promote inclusive development. Through her work, she aims to contribute to evidence-based policies that ensure the gains from economic growth are more equitably distributed—especially in underserved rural economies.

Outside of academia and work, she enjoys films, travelling, and music.
