Inclusion Economics Research Areas
Advancing inclusion and justice through research focused on women, climate and governance
Inclusion Economics research draws insights, frameworks, and approaches from multiple disciplines – economics, political science, and more – to answer questions central to building inclusive, accountable, and sustainable economies and societies. We conduct our research primarily through multi-year studies and policy engagements in close collaboration with government or practitioner organization counterparts to enable a direct path to impact and scale-up.

We test mechanisms to socially and economically empower women by promoting greater access to economic opportunity, financial and digital tools, and government services.
We investigate how information, policy intervention, and market mechanisms can build just and resilient societies and protect citizens from the harmful effects of climate change and pollution.
We focus on ways to enable women's access to, and productive use of, digital technology in order to close digital gender gaps and promote women’s ability to benefit from an increasingly digital world.
We focus on how the design and implementation of government programs can better provide inclusive access to public goods and support the well-being of marginalized populations.
We aim to identify ways to promote financial inclusion and design innovative financial products that enable economic progress for marginalized populations, particularly for women.
We aim to build accountable and inclusive institutions through identifying channels for citizens to hold their governments accountable and become political leaders.
We generate evidence on the nature of both paid and unpaid work for marginalized populations, how livelihoods are affected by economic shocks, and what policies can help facilitate more equitable access to economic opportunity.
