Alex Chen
Alex Chen is a Research and Policy Manager at Yale Inclusion Economics, where he supports projects on women’s empowerment and digital public infrastructure. Prior to joining IE, Alex was a Senior Policy Associate at the Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL) at MIT where he worked on political economy and governance policies and supported research projects in North Macedonia and Uzbekistan. In addition, Alex held positions at UNDP in Kosovo and the U.S. Department of Commerce, where he worked on access to justice for women and marginalized groups. Along with a Bachelor’s in Economics and Political Science from Columbia University, Alex holds a Master’s in Russian, Eurasian, and East European Studies from Columbia, where he built an econometric model of LGBTQ activism and backlash in post-Soviet countries.
